This pioneering report "Software for Technological Patent Intelligence" surveys the needs of intellectual property (IP) professionals, who exploit patents to produce intelligence, and surveys software product capabilitites. Patents are a valuable source of information which, if analyzed, can help to generate knowledge about the relative positions of the different players or establish the state of the art in a given field. The report describes how patent professionals exploit and utilize software packages and it compares to the features of the evaluated programs.
